Post-Wedding Checklist: 5 Things You Must Do After the Big Day

The most exciting and exhausting day of your life is finally over! But wait... the wedding might be done, but your duties as newlyweds have just begun. Here is a checklist of things you need to handle the morning after to ensure a smooth wrap-up.

1. Manage Rentals and Your Dress

• Rented Dresses: Inspect them for any major damage or stains, and return them to the bridal shop on time to avoid late fees.
• Purchased Dresses: Send your gown to a specialized dry cleaner immediately. Do not let champagne or makeup stains set into the fabric!
• Other Props/Rentals: Gather all rented decorations and return them properly.

2. Settle Finances

• Open your wedding envelopes (gifts), and meticulously record the names and amounts (so you know what to gift them back in the future).
• Settle any final payments with your venue, organizer, photographers, and other vendors.

3. Send Thank You Messages

Don't forget to send a heartfelt message to your family, bridal party, and guests who attended (or sent gifts). Attaching a quick sneak-peek photo from your phone is a lovely touch!

4. Follow Up on Photos & Videos

Your photographer will usually send a few "Sneak Peek" photos within 1-2 days for your social media. The full gallery and video might take 1-2 months. Put a reminder in your calendar to follow up based on your contract dates.

5. Handle Legal Documents

If you didn't legally register your marriage during the ceremony, now is the time to head to the district office. Update your name/title (if applicable) on all important documents like your ID card, passport, and bank accounts.
